An absolutely fabulous article in The Stage this week! A definite must read! By the time theatres re-open again... Also by this time:
• Nica Burns has opened all of her theatres, with shows playing to only two people a night, just so her staff still have a job.
• Harry Potter is now ‘Harry’, a one-man show in which Harry plays with his wand.
• Les Mis does another concert version, but this time performed outside parliament. Michael Ball is playing Fantine because he’s bored of everything else.
• Mischief Theatre produces its most successful show ever – ‘The UK Government Goes Wrong’ – which culminates in a marvellous finale of Boris being breastfed by Mother Cummings.
• Outdoor theatre festivals are allowed to proceed, but most of them are quickly shut down again by police officers who confuse them for illegal raves.
