“Personality is key!” says Adam. “Simply put, entertainment isn’t a performance. It is a passion onstage and off. It is about people 100% of the time. You have to be their best friend morning, noon and night.” He credits his mother when it comes down to his personality and confidence. “She is an incredible woman and similarly to her, I love people!” Adam’s training and experience comes from a variety of different backgrounds and principles. Originally qualified in performing arts his career has taken him on a varied and interesting journey; everything from producing a summer pantomime at sea through to performing for the A-list stars in London and around the world.
Born in the North East of England Adam originally trained in drama and dance before becoming qualified in Musical Theatre Production with Trinity College London and has working on an impressive list of productions. During this time he also worked with Rambert Dance Company which showcased at Ripon Cathedral in a one of sight specific contemporary dance. Upon leaving the North East Adam established himself as a performer and producer on both professional and amateur shows and pantomimes.
Adam now resides and works from his home in London. So much more than a performer, and with a top class client base, Adam is one of the most sought after individuals in the entertainment industry. Adam’s first professional engagement was at the tender age of 18 as an entertainment host and manager onboard a ferry. He credits this to learning a number of key skills in the business. “Being such a small ship, the job allowed me to learn everything from scheduling, lighting design, sound mixing, technical staging and audience profiling at a remarkable young age. I had such an incredible grounding in the business” says Adam. “These skills have proven vital throughout my career”.
Still a performer at heart, Adam has played the piano and sung since he was 4. Despite having no formal training his list of high end clients and credits is impressive. He performs entirely to his audience; there is no set list, no music books and certainly no official repertoire. If an audience likes it – he plays it! Also a sought after musical director and choral animateur Adam hosts, produces and develops musical theatre workshops and choirs across the U.K. Much of his time is dedicated to inspiring people, who may not have the opportunity to sing, to get out and find their voice.
Adam has always being involved in broadcasting and is is often presenting and producing a variety of programmes. In 2014 Adam completed a BA Honours Degree at the prestigious University of Westminster, London in Radio Production and Documentary making. During this time he won a number of industry recognised awards. Most significantly was receiving the GOLD CHARLES PARKER AWARD for his production of the documentary, ‘Beachy Head – Life On The Edge’ which took him to work at the BBC.
As well as the above, Adam is enjoys and is regular engaged as an after dinner speaker, presenter, graphic/web designer, audio producer, a photographer and is almost always travelling! Truly a distinctinve individual, Adam has the ability to draw upon a unique set of skills from a variety of different backgrounds. When at home Adam is a dedicated son and sibling to two wonderful brothers. Any spare time (of which there is little) is spent looking after his four-legged gorgeous Chihuahua – Daisy Mae West!
